Review our How to Choose a Class document https://tinyurl.com/3suvs7k9 This camp is designed for campers who have successfully completed Youth or Teen camp, and who have been recommended by their instructors to advance to an Intermediate level. New sailors should enroll in a Teen camp. The purpose of these camps is to provide advanced sailing skills including: Advanced sail trim and steering Sailing upwind Right of way rules Rules of racing Rounding marks Teamwork and cooperation From this level, individuals may be invited to join the Narrows Race Team. If you are not sure if your child qualified for Intermediate Camp, please email us @ info@ghycjuniorsail.org. Two participants will sail together in close proximity during this class. Teen Intermediate class is designed for sailors ages 12-18 who have mastered basic sailing skills. We recommend sailors over 115 lbs, or over 5 ft tall who have already passed Youth or Teen camp, start with this class. Please note all sailors at this level complete a capsize (tip over) recovery test the first day of camp Please note the class location carefully as two separate sites are used for Summer Sail Camp programs. Boats used at each site are: 420 (TYC Wollochet Bay) and FJ (West Shore Marina)
