The Explorers Program introduces intermediate-aged campers to the world of camping outside of cabin life, while incorporating mixed-gender programming and team-building (while still sleeping in gender-neutral cabins or tents). Campers spend one night per session on an overnight camping trip with their cabin, allowing them to learn the basics of camping. Camping skills include trip planning and preparation, proper camp set-up, starting a fire, and learning to cook in the outdoors. Campers also learn important environmental education principles such as Leave No Trace. The Explorers Program is the perfect step between our traditional, overnight Youth Camp and the Adventure Program. The program was designed to start developing both competence and confidence in our youngest adolescent campers.
