Students discover how to identify wild mammals that live in DuPage by studying skulls and bones, learn basic natural hisotry and use techniques that unravel wildlife mysteries. With teamwork and observations, they then solve their own wildlife investigations. One hour. Register at (630) 942-6200 at least four weeks in advance.
Grades 4 - 8
$50 per program for 10 - 20 students
ILS: 19, 21 -- NGSS: LS 1, 2, 3, 4
The Forest Preserve District recommends one chaperone per 10 students. Chaperones need to make sure their groups behave and use quiet inside voices. Large groups will be divided into subgroups of 25, which must stay together.
Check in at the front desk when you arrive. If you're late, you may have a shorter or cancelled program. The program takes place rain or shine, so dress for the weather. Food is not allowed on the trail or inside the building; please dispose of garbage properly. Visitors may not fish or collect natural items at the preserve.
