- Actors must register for an audition time to be considered for a role. Bring completed audition forms and non-returnable head shot marked with name and age to audition. Audition materials and forms will be emailed to those registered one week prior to auditions.
This season’s production, Elf the Musical Jr., is a modern-day holiday classic that is sure to make every young performer embrace their ""inner elf"". In this show, Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. Not an actor, but still want to participate? Volunteers are needed to help build sets, create costumes, and more. If you are interested, email aaubie@gepark.org.
Auditions: August 18 and August 20 at Spring Avenue Recreation Center. All who audition will receive a part in the musical.
Call Backs: August 22 at Spring Avenue Recreation Center. Only select actors will be called back for an additional audition to help cast them better.
Casting & Participation Fee: All who are cast after auditions must pay a participation fee ($375 for residents, $400 for nonresidents) prior to the first rehearsal. Fee includes a t-shirt and cast party after the show. Costumes will partially need to be provided by participants closer to the performances.
Rehearsals: August 25 to November 5 at Spring Avenue Recreation Center from 5:30pm-8pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Additional dance calls will take place on 2-3 Saturdays during the production process and will be communicated well in advance. A call sheet will be sent out weekly.
Tech week will take place from November 10-12 from 5pm-8pm at the theatre and will require all actors. A meeting for adults/caregivers and the cast will be scheduled after rehearsals begin. For more information, see the theatre guide on our website.
