Nestled in the heart of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and its Canadian counterpart, Quetico Provincial Park, Saganaga Lake is larger and deeper than any other lake in the Wilderness. This makes the kayak the perfect mode of travel to explore all of the nooks and crannies that her shores and islands offer. This tour is designed for the novice kayaker but it will be memorable voyage for everyone who enjoys traveling fast and light in wild places. On this four day (and three night) trip, we visit numerous bays and countless islands. There is no shortage of wildlife to encounter or fish to catch. We'll commune with nature and reset our internal clocks to sync with the rhythms of the woods. Heck, think Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer on tricked out kayaks! This trip includes all necessary food, gear, entry fees and transportation to and from the launch point. Guests are responsible for securing their own accommodations in or around Grand Marais the night prior to the trip, as well as the night after returning to Grand Marais, if desired. There is a mandatory gear check the night before we leave, so each guest needs to be available on that date.
