Every year, on the third Saturday in September, people join together at sites all over California to take part in the State's largest volunteer event, California Coastal Cleanup Day. This year Marine Science Institute and Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary are kicking off Coast Weeks by teaming up to clean a fantastic site in Half Moon Bay, Gray Whale Cove! Join us and thousands of volunteers as we participate in removing trash from our beautiful coast. MSI will provide gloves and bags for collecting waste an recycling; HOWEVER, a theme the state encourages, in an effort to lessen the environmental footprint of the day, is to bring your own clean-up supplies (pails, light gardening gloves, etc.). We will meet at Gray Whale Cove on Saturday September 17th at 9am. Registration is free and we welcome your entire family to participate. More information will be sent out prior to the event.
