Instructor: Jessica Lewis This semester-long art class offers students ages 11–17 an exciting opportunity to explore painting, drawing, and sculpture through a variety of techniques and mediums. Over the course of the class, students will: • Experiment with printmaking techniques to create layered, dynamic works of art. • Dive into painting and drawing, refining their understanding of anatomy, color mixing, and technical drawing. • Study collage artists and develop their own unique compositions. • Learn about Duchamp’s Readymades and create imaginative sculptures using found objects. In addition to hands-on projects, students will gain insight into art history, exploring how past movements influence contemporary practices. Lessons are designed to ignite creativity, build a strong foundation in the elements of art and principles of design, and inspire students to think outside the box. This transformative class blends traditional methods with innovative approaches, helping students develop their artistic voice and confidence while having fun!
