When you enroll in Possum Pals Summer Camp as a Counselor in Training, you will learn a great deal about conservation, wildlife, the environment and leadership from our Education Camp Counselors. We will give you the training you need to develop your qualities of leadership, teamwork, respect, and responsibility when working with children of all ages. These skills are important in the job market today and will prepare you for leadership roles in future endeavors. This class can also benefit those who desire a career in early childhood education. Being a CIT provides teens that babysit to become a safe and responsible sitter for the children they care for. The orientation week is mandatory and you may select an additional week of your choice to complete the training. Time worked can be used toward SAT hours. We offer these classes in a fun and interesting outdoor environment making camp fun for everyone involved! Certificate of completion will be given at the close of the selected camp. Possumwood Acres uses nut products extensively, including peanuts, to feed the sanctuary residents. Please consider this fact for those with nut allergies or sensitivities.
