Thank you for registering as a delegate with DIGIVATIONS XGENS’ Delegation to participate in Cornell University High School Model United Nations, CMUNC.org, Your acceptance to participate with XGENS is an accomplishment of which you should be proud since the Delegation evaluation process is highly selective. Overall, participation will provide you with the benefit of meeting like minded peers from throughout the Globe, and foster your research, writing and advocacy talents. You will enjoy learning about “real world” issues faced by country/members comprising the UN and its different organs and committees. Before the Conference, you will draft and submit a position paper consistent with your assigned country’s perspectives and past, current and prospective actions to be taken regarding specific issues that are being addressed at the UN. You will step into the mind set of a hypothetical representative from your assigned country at the UN, and advocate your county’s position based on the position paper even if you do not personally agree with the position in real life. You will also learn how to collaborate and compromise by drafting proposed resolutions to solve the issues before you. This form of role playing while challenging since it tests interdisciplinary talents enables you to develop mentorship and leadership skills. Your position paper needs to be submitted to XGENS on or before March 7 so we can evaluate it and provide feedback enabling you to make changes prior to your required submission to CMUNC. On-line participation requires focused participation and proper business attire. In-Person participation requires accommodations at DIGIVATIONS House at Cornell's Cascadilla Creek. Please contact Dr. Steve Berman before making your reservations.
