About This Activity
In Scratch Jr. Coding Camp, children aged 5-8 will dive into the exciting world of coding through fun, hands-on activities using the Scratch Jr. app. Over the course of this week-long, half-day camp, students will learn basic coding concepts like sequencing, loops, and problem-solving by creating their own interactive stories, games, and animations. With a focus on creativity and collaboration, kids will express their ideas through digital storytelling, develop essential skills for the future, and have a blast while doing it. By the end of the week, they'll leave with a collection of their own projects and a newfound love for technology! Multiple teachers will be at each camp to ensure that students are grouped by age and ability, allowing materials to be presented in a way that is developmentally appropriate. Older and more advanced learners will be challenged with more complex topics and projects tailored to their skill level. ClassDojo will be utilized to provide updates to parents throughout the week on key concepts learned and projects completed.
