Join us this week for a worldly adventure as campers travel around the world to study cultures & their artwork. St. Basil's Cathedral, Eiffel Tower, Egyptian pyramids & landscapes, are a few of the famous places students will draw & paint. Famous artists from around the world such as Frida Kahlo, Hokusai, Monet & Van Gogh will be studied. Campers will paint Chinese dragons with watercolor during this camp & each day, clay projects will reflect the culture of the world & diversity of its people. Please bring to camp: Large shoe or boot box (write name on box) for fired clay pieces, old shirt to wear during camp Each day: Drink & snack to enjoy during 15 minute break About our Summer Camp! Campers will experience 3 hours of creative opportunities each day. They will learn & practice basic skills such as drawing with pencil, markers, charcoal, oil & chalk pastels. Students will learn color mixing & painting with artist paintbrushes while using watercolors & acrylic paints. Every day, students will get their hands into clay while they learn hand building techniques such as pinch, coil & slab. All clay projects will be fired & will be ready 2-3 weeks after camp. These camps are for ages 5-12 years & in some locations teens are invited to participate. A certified art teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design & Art, Carrie Stevens is skilled at adapting projects to children with a variety of skill levels & accomplishments. She works to stimulate creativity in an encouraging environment for her students. Camps are Monday-Thursday, AM (9-12) or PM (1-4) sessions.
