About This Activity

Environmental Stewardship: Habitat & Land Conservation, Local Endangered Species, and Farm Predators •Habitat Conservation- Why is it important to protect endangered species? Farmers will investigate local endangered species and how they impact the environment to complete an ecosystem. Why is it important specifically for farmers to protect these species? How can we do this? Famers will get to build an arrangement of endangered animal habitats for Sawinson’s Hawk, California Condor, Western Burrowing Owl, Townsend’s Western Big-Eared Bat, Giant Garter Snake, and Alameda Whipsnake. •Land Conservation- What is the history of East Bay land use? What types of soils are in this land? How can we care for the Earth’s land? •Invasives/Predators- Plants, Animals, Pests.
