The Intermediate Lead Climbing Course is the third course in a series that ends with traditional climbing II. This one day course will cover the fundamentals of lead climbing in a traditional environment on single pitch routes. Students will have the chance to mock lead routes using traditional protection and receive instructor feedback and direction on placements Some of the topics covered include guide books, lead belay, rope management, communication, protection placements and route cleaning. Prerequisites for this course include gym climbing experience, Climbing Anchors Course and the recommended reading list or equivalent experience Students should be proficient with the autoblock, prusik, klemheist, munter and clove hitch. Students should be comfortably climbing outdoor routes at a 5.8 level or greater.
