Scratch is an easy to learn and easy to use 2-D computer programming module designed by the MIT Media Lab. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. With Scratch, students learn the design and development process that goes into some of their favorite computer programs. Students will be designing and programming their own ideas into interactive stories, games and animations. For beginners, this camp will show them the basics of programming. For students with experience, this camp will allow them to develop their ideas into more complex programming. No prior experience required. Instructor Parker Owen is a 7-year veteran of the public school system, teaching science to middle school students and has four years experience teaching summer robotics and computer programming camps to middle and elementary school students at Georgia Tech’s Savannah campus.
