This combination class will work to meet the needs of swimmers at both the Level 2 and Level 3 skills level. Fundamental Aquatic Skills & Intro to Stroke Development (Ages 6+) 45 Minute Class This class teaches the beginnings of locomotion skills needed to produce forward motion in the water. Many of the skills taught in this class mirror those taught in a Preschool 3 class, but is for kids who are at least 6 years old. Swimmers will learn to glide and float without support and recover to a vertical position. Participants further develop simultaneous as well as, alternating arm and leg movements on the front and back. The beginnings of how to swim the proper strokes. In this class, swimmers learn and practice survival floating, front crawl, and elementary backstroke. They will be introduced to both scissor and dolphin kicks, headfirst entries from a seated position and tread water for an extended period. Swimmers must be able to put their face in the water, follow directions and be independent in the water.
