Description
This class is designed for the dancer looking to further develop their dance education in a positive and encouraging environment. Ensemble dancers will have a blast as they gain confidence and get a great workout in this 60-minute class. Dancers will improve their technique and performance abilities in this extraordinarily high energy hip hop/ jazz, super fun tap, and beautiful ballet class. During ballet, students will learn barre combinations set to classical and lyrical music and focus on body placement and terminology while working center floor. Dancers will learn all styles of jazz including street funk, Broadway and of course – hip hop! High energy jazz will include a stronger focus on technique during center and across the floor combinations and routines. Beginner tap work will continue with fun upbeat barre combinations and the introduction to blending taps together to create tap sequences. This class participates in two routines in the Recital, including the featured Ensemble Opening Production Routine. Attire: Leotard any style and color, tights any color, pink leather ballet shoes NO DRAWSTRINGS/TIES, black slip on jazz shoes and black leather oxford slip on tap shoes NO TIES. Please note: Recital Tickets, Recital Recording & Costumes Fees are not included in the class rate. Recital Tickets will be available for purchase in the spring. Recital Recording Production Fee: $45.00 per family. Payable to instructor April Bergeron by 2/1/25. All families receive a link to download the professionally recorded and edited Recital.
All costume deposits are due at the time of registration, as these fees are not included in the class rates. Please see the class descriptions to determine how many routines your dancer’s class participates in. Costume balances will be due by Feb. 1, 2025. Costume balances not paid in full by the due date may result in exclusion from the dance recital, at LPRD discretion.

Last day to withdraw from classes and receive a prorated refund for the remaining classes of the year minus a $25 withdrawal fee is Friday October 25, 2024. If you do not officially withdraw from classes with Parks and Recreation by this date, you will be charged in full for your class and costume fees – no exceptions.
A 5-month automatic payment plan is available during checkout for full year classes only. 3.12% credit card processing fee applies to all credit/debit/electronic check payments. Register and pay in full with check or cash in the Parks & Rec office to avoid this fee.
