Science Olympiad is a well-established, nationally recognized competition that brings science to life through fun and rewarding team-based tournaments. Students work in small teams to compete in a variety of events spanning multiple scientific disciplines—including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Events fall into three main categories: 1) Knowledge-based: Taking written tests or analyzing data using math and scientific reasoning. 2) Engineering-based: Designing and building devices within specific parameters, then testing them in competition. 3) Lab-based: Conducting hands-on experiments to solve problems or achieve targeted outcomes.
