Penn State Harrisburg’s Tennis Camp is under the direction of Head Coach Andrew Bookman. The camp is designed to develop strong fundamentals and competitive habits at all levels. The focus will be on technical improvement, court awareness, footwork training, stroke development, offense/defense, as well as strengthening basic fundamentals and of course, sportsmanship. Players will be grouped based on skill levels. Double skills, strategy and court positioning will also be taught. Information on the expectations for high school and college play will be presented, as well as an overview of the college athletics experience and how it differs from high school. Typical morning: 8:45-9:00 Arrival and Check-In 9:00-9:20 Dynamic warm-up and footwork drills 9:20-10:15 Strokes and on court drilling 10:15-10:30 Snack break (bring your own snacks, water provided) 10:30-11:20 On-court games / match play / point play drills 11:20-11:30 Water break 11:30-12:00 Conditioning drills or on court games 12:00-12:15 Check-Out and pick up campers
