Description
The objectives of Level 6 are to refine strokes so students swim them with ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances. Ability to swim continuously using all strokes and turns. Level 6 focuses on becoming a fitness swimmer. An emphasis is placed on technique and distance swimming. Students will be able to learn a variety of swim drills that will improve their technique.In order to pass Level 6, children must be able to complete the following skills:
- Front crawl open turn.
- Backstroke open turn.
- Sidestroke turn.
- Front flip turn.
- Butterfly turn and breaststroke turn.
- Front crawl - 100 yards
- Back crawl - 100 yards
- Elementary Backstroke - 50 yards
- Breaststroke - 50 yards
- Sidestroke - 50 yards
- Butterfly - 50 yards
- Demonstrate how to use the following equipment: pull buoy, fins, pace clock, paddles.
- Calculate target heart rate.
- Apply the principles of water exercise.
Please bring your receipt to the first day of class.
