About This Activity
In this fun beginning and intermediate chess camp, Mrs. Wilkinson and Mr. Tanner will teach you to identify the game pieces, learn how to move them, and learn the rules of the game. You will develop many skills as you play: focusing, strategizing, paying attention to detail, problem-solving, and planning moves and making choices. You will also learn invaluable social skills as you interact with others, learn from your mistakes, and practice good sportsmanship. This class will continue in the third trimester if you are interested in playing throughout the year.
