About This Activity
D&D.......an improvisational storytelling game set in a fantasy world that unfolds depending on the decisions and actions of characters that the kids create. By solving problems /puzzles and defeating monsters, adventurers earn points and gold coins to spend on improving their character. Mr. Noon, the 7th grade Harding Academy English teacher, plays the role of the Dungeon Master (DM), whose job it is to help kids navigate the story, ensuring that the game runs smoothly. Having DM'd many games with middle school students over the last decade, I've learned how much D&D encourages and strengthens face-to-face communication and social interaction, self-confidence, teamwork, creativity, and leadership.
