- This is a Southern Level 2 Tournament
- You may enter Two (2) Divisions in this tournament in hopes of getting into the older division. You will only be selected for one singles event. 8 applicants will be selected for the older division based on their younger standing, if it is in the top 80. If you absolutely do not want to play the younger division, do not register for it. You should only register for two singles divisions if you are willing to play either division
- Entry will be based on selection criteria of up to 28 from the age group of the event and up to 4 from the lower age group who do not get in the first 28, and who are in the top 64 of the Southern standings at the time of selection.
- You may not enter a different age division in doubles than your singles.
- The Selection Process DOES include the selection of 1/8 from the Younger Age Group
- CHECK THE INTERNET/TENNISLINK AND/OR DRAWS TO FIND YOUR NEXT MATCH TIME.
- New Orleans, LA is in the Central Time Zone
- Please read all of the information provided on the website. It is a lot to scroll through but will probably answer any questions you might have.
- Both Singles and Doubles times will be posted in the Future Match Info Report on 11/10/16 in the evening.
- On Wednesday, 11/9/16, PLEASE CHECK THE DOUBLES COMPETITORS LIST TO MAKE SURE YOUR PAIRING IS CORRECT
- Email any other questions to firstname.lastname@example.org - this is the best form of communication. With such a short amount of time between registration closing and the start of the tournament, answering and returning phone calls is nearly impossible. Emails can be answered much quicker and at any time during the day or night.
FORMAT OF PLAY:
Singles is a 32 Draw, Full Feed-In thru Quarters.
Consolation will go through Monday.
*The Scoring for Main Draw Singles is Best 2 of 3 Sets and the Scoring for Singles Consolation is a Tiebreak in lieu of a third set (3rd-4th, 5th-6th, & Consolation Finals will all abide by consolation formats).
The Format of Play for Doubles is a 16 Draw, Single Elimination with a 3rd/4th Playoff

AGAIN, both players must register...There is a separate doubles site.
Order for Doubles Selection

3. Teams with one player entered in singles and one player not registered for singles.
4. Teams with both players not registered for singles.
USTA SOUTHERN SEEDING CRITERIA
In an effort to provide greater transparency and understanding of how USTA Southern seeds will be determined for USTA Southern L 1, 1A and 2 events, FAC (Friend at Court) method II.A.4.b., which provides for a computerized system of rankings or standings. The Junior Competition Committee approved the below chart that the Tournament Seeding Committees, with assistance from the USTA Southern staff, shall utilize to determine seeds.
If two or more players are tied in the final seeding order, the higher seed is awarded to the player with the higher current Southern Standing.
On a Draw will be seeded numerically 1-4, and in groupings of 5's, 9's and 17's. When calculating 12U seeds, the 10U standings are not considered.
Seeding will be prepared by the Southern Office at the time they prepare the selection list.
Do the selection lists consider players who are playing up? Yes, in Southern Level 1A, 2 and 3 Southern events, 1/8 of the draw is taken from the younger age players in the top 80 who are still in the younger age group. For Level 3 evernts, 1/8 of the draw is taken from the younger age players in the top 40 who are still in the younger age group. This is not done in any Southern Level 1 Championships.
