This class/workshop is closed to further registration.
This 2-day workshop explores the relationship between observation, collage, and abstraction.The first day will include a short discussion of the importance of collage to 20th century aesthetics, with art historical references and examples of current artists working in the collage medium. Students will construct a collage from a model in a setup composition. The second day will begin with a short discussion and examples of abstract painting. Students will find the abstraction in their finished collages, and scale them up to make dynamic abstract paintings.
Workshop refunds will be granted when a student sends a request in writing at least 5 business days before the start of the workshop. Send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Only 75% of the workshop tuition will be refunded. No refunds will be given within 4 business days of a workshop.
