FISH: Intermediate 1LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Refine the five basic strokes, introduce the butterfly stroke and continue to build endurance. Learn basic starts and turns for competition and recreational lap swimming. Expand on water polo, synchronized swimming and rescue skills. Learn about skin diving and how to use a mask and fins, boating safety and open water dangers.REQUIRED SKILLS TO PARTICIPATE: Can tread water for 1 minute; swim 25 yards (the length of the lap pool) of each: crawl stroke with side breathing, breaststroke using a whip kick, sidestroke using a scissor kick, elementary backstroke using a whip kick, and back crawl stroke.
