About This Activity
Description
An intermediate level class for girls ages 8-12 years who have mastered basic level skills and have developed adequate strength to work on higher level progressions. Participants are disciplined, eager to learn and have demonstrated attentiveness to coaching. Rockets is part of the developmental program designed to prepare gymnasts for competitive level gymnastics. *Classes are by invitation only and attendance is required two days/week. Consistent enrollment required to maintain eligibility. Orange Rockets will be offered from 4:45 - 6:10 PM during the Session 3 Winter session.If your child is 8 years old, please talk to your child’s instructor to determine which class (Orange Rocket or Green Rocket) is the best fit.
Curriculum includes:
- speed, agility and tightness for vault
- pullover, casting and back-hip circles on bars
- postural control on balance beam and basic handstand progressions
- forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, bridges and walkovers on floor
What to Wear: Gymnastics style leotards recommended. Alternatively, participants may wear comfortable athletic style clothing like leggings or shorts and a tight-fitting t-shirt. Torso/midriff must be covered. Gymnastics apparel available for purchase at the Novato Gymnastics Center M-Th from 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM, or shop online through our virtual store (novatogymnastics.org/store).
Stay Home When Sick: If your child is sick, we kindly ask that you keep them home. Participants exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms will not be allowed to participate. Staff reserve the right to accept or decline participants based on their assessment and discretion of any apparent signs or symptoms of illness. Thank you for your understanding.
No Make-Up Classes or Refunds for Missed Classes: The Novato Gymnastics Center does not offer make-ups, pro-rated reimbursements, or similar for missed days. Thank you for your understanding.
Class Cancellations: Cancellations are subject to a $13.00 processing fee and prorated reimbursement. No exceptions.
