Students learn about tree identification, plant physiology and the art of sap collecting and see maple syrup made from start to finish. Your experience starts in the classroom with our Frank & Joe puppet show on YouTube. 90 minutes. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Register at
Pre-K - 8
15 - 30 students per program
$5 per person (including chaperones)
NGSS: LS 1, 2 ESS 3 PS 3
The Forest Preserve District recommends one chaperone per five students pre-K - K and one per 10 students grades 1 - 8. Everyone should dress for the weather and bring water. (Bring sunscreen and bug spray, too, if needed.) Trails are asphalt or crushed limestone, but waterproof shoes are recommended on muddy days. If the weather's severe, the Forest Preserve District may need to cancel your program.
