Students discover insects and other macroinvertebrates with varying degrees of tolerance to pollution as they learn how to measure water quality and gain real-life ecological experiences. Advance teacher training is available. 90 minutes. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Register at
(630) 850-8112.

Grades 4 - 12
$75 per program for 15 - 30 students

The Forest Preserve District recommends one chaperone per 10 students grades 4 - 8 and one per 15 students grades 9 - 12. Everyone should dress for the weather and bring water. (Bring sunscreen and bug spray, too, if needed.) Trails are asphalt or crushed limestone, but waterproof shoes are recommended on muddy days. If the weather's severe or stream conditions are not appropriate, the Forest Preserve District may need to cancel your program.
