Students use their senses to observe and record their surroundings during a hike with a naturalist through an oak-hickory forest before joining an activity and Q-and-A time at the visitor center. 60 minutes. Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:30 and 10 a.m. Register at (630) 850-8112.
Pre-K - 12

The Forest Preserve District recommends one chaperone per five students pre-K - K, one per 10 students grades 1 - 8, and one per 15 students grades 9 - 12. Everyone should dress for the weather and bring water. (Bring sunscreen and bug spray, too, if needed.) Trails are asphalt or crushed limestone, but waterproof shoes are recommended on muddy days. If weather's severe, the Forest Preserve District may need to cancel your program.
