Description
Embark on a dynamic two-week filmmaking adventure! In Week 1, you’ll learn scriptwriting, casting, and the technical aspects of shooting, gaining hands-on experience with cameras, audio, lighting, and special effects. In Week 2, you’ll focus on production and post-production, shooting and editing your script to bring your vision to life. By the end of the camp, you’ll have created an original short film, showcased at the end-of-summer event. Drop-off starts at 9:15 a.m. Please bring lunch, snacks, and a water bottle. Camp will be held at Thurston Community Media, 440 Yauger Way, Suite C, Olympia. Week 1 Pre-production and Script Development: Dive into the foundations of filmmaking by exploring scriptwriting, casting, and the technical aspects of shooting. Gain hands-on experience with cameras, audio equipment, lighting, and special effects. Collaborate with your team to craft and develop the script, cast your film, and rehearse it, setting the stage for the creative journey ahead. Week 2 Filming and Editing: Build upon the skills acquired in Week 1, delving into advanced techniques in production and post-production for filmmaking. Further explore the intricacies of cameras, audio equipment, lighting, and special effects. Collaborate in teams to shoot and edit the scripts developed in Week 1, bringing your cinematic vision to life. By the end of this two-week camp, you will possess a comprehensive understanding of the filmmaking process. You will have successfully navigated the pre-production, production, and post-production stages, resulting in the creation of an original short movie which will be featured in the end of summer showcase.
