About This Activity
Description
Build on your fiddle skills in this intermediate class! Designed for those who have completed a Beginning Fiddle class or have instructor approval, you’ll learn techniques to master tunes by ear. Access video tutorials before class to get a head start. Each week, you’ll break down tricky sections, explore harmonies, and practice accompaniment for jam sessions. Participants must provide their own violin and shoulder rest. The instructor recommends RL Ray Violin Shop for instrument inspection to ensure it’s in playing condition. If not, a rental violin and adjustable shoulder rest will be required. Rental information prints on the registration receipt.
* Aug 5 class will be held in shelter # 4. Participants must bring their own violin (or rent one - $25 for the month from RL Ray Violins) and adjustable shoulder rest (KUN, Everest, or FOM brands, or similar) to the first class. If you are using a personal or family violin, please bring it to RL Ray Violin Shop, prior to the first class, to have it tuned and inspected. If the violin is not in playing condition, and recommended repairs cannot be made, please rent a violin instead. Additional recommended supplies (optional): Handheld recording device (phone or otherwise), notebook, pencil. Instructor: Pamela Margon, www.olyfiddle.com
