The older acting students expand upon the basics of acting with both scripted scenes and improvisation. They hone their performance skills throughout the semester and work together to create a scene to perform at the end of the semester during the recital. Any facet of theatrical performance might be covered, depending on the interests and experience of the individuals in each class. The goal of this class is to prepare the students for auditioning for plays or other performances and how to conduct themselves when involved in rehearsals and shows. These skills translate well to real world experiences as well such as public speaking, critical thinking, problem solving, working with others toward a goal, and conducting themselves with self-awareness and respect for others.
