Unplug and Experience the Spirit of Overnight Camp at Nissokone!
At YMCA Camp Nissokone, campers spend a week immersed in classic camp traditions and outdoor adventures. Living in same-age, same-gender cabins, campers explore everything our lakefront property has to offer—archery, swimming, boating, climbing, campfires, and more
Guided by our experienced, caring staff, campers learn teamwork, develop new skills, and gain confidence as they try a variety of activities each day. Most staff are college students focused on youth development or education, carefully selected through interviews, background checks, and extensive training. Every staff member is CPR and First Aid certified and completes 100+ hours of training in youth development, leadership, and activity planning.
Living and playing together creates a strong sense of community—campers celebrate shared achievements, encourage one another, and return home with friendships and memories that last a lifetime.
We’re so excited to welcome your camper this summer! Here’s what to know about registration:
- Deposit: $100 per week (non-refundable and non-transferable)
- Early Bird Savings: Register between September and October and save up to $10 per week
- Sibling Discount: Save 5% on each additional child
- Multi-Activity Discount: Save 5% on 2 or more weeks
- Late Registration: After May 1st, add $20 per week
We understand plans can change. Because we plan meals, staffing, and supplies ahead of time, cancellations must be emailed to camp@ymcadetroit.org, the following deadlines will be followed:
- Written cancellations received by January 31: 100% of paid program fees will be credited to your YMCA account for future use.
- Written cancellations received on or after February 1st: No refunds or credits will be issued. A $50 cancellation fee per child, per week will apply.
- Written cancellations received on or after April 1: No refunds or credits will be issued. A $100 cancellation fee per child, per week will apply.
- Registration fees and deposits are always non-refundable and non-transferable

Camp registration is not complete until you have completed your online camper forms. Epact will send you an email to complete your profile - it is due one week prior to the start of the camp week.
