By the time your child enters kindergarten, their teacher will expect them to have some pre-literacy skills - the ability to carry on a conversation, being able to pay attention, react to stories, know some of the letters of the alphabet and the sounds that these letters make, and some basic print concepts. Through a variety of activities, students will discover pre-literacy concepts and acquire skills or build on skills already learned. (JG)
