Arches National Park: Your Winter Vacation Spot

Beyond Arches

When planning a trip to Arches, save time for some of the other amazing things to see and do in the area.

The Island in the Sky entrance to Canyonlands National Park is located about 35 miles from Arches National Park. This is the most accessible section of Canyonlands National Park, and provides amazing views of seemingly endless canyons and plateaus. The Needles entrance to the park is also located within reasonable driving distance. But, drive just a little further, and you can witness something few others have.

Less than 40 minutes from your winter vacation spot is The Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail, a rare opportunity to see real, unexcavated dinosaur bones in nature. Dinosaur footprints can be found in several places in the area. One easily accessible set of prints is located at a trailhead just off of Potash Road, outside of Moab.

The year-round sunshine in Arches National Park is an excellent cure for the winter blues. Skip the crowds and the heat and make Arches your winter vacation spot this year.
