The Beginners Lacrosse Camp hosted by POWLAX offers a first look at lacrosse for players who want to learn or who have only basic knowledge of the sport. The goal is to foster a love of the game, to provide the tools necessary for developing a solid foundation of lacrosse knowledge and to prepare beginner players for more competitive lacrosse leagues.

Level of Instruction: Beginners

Skills/Fundamentals Learned: This camp focuses on basic skills such as:

  • Stick and ball control
  • Ground balls
  • Passing and catching
  • Shooting

Contractor/Instructor: Patrick Chapla, the founder of POWLAX, stands at the forefront of lacrosse coaching innovation. With a coaching philosophy embraced by youth, high school, and collegiate coaches nationwide, he has established a legacy of excellence in lacrosse training. Patrick's journey in lacrosse coaching is marked by significant achievements and extensive experience. As the former head coach at Grandview High School and Offensive Coordinator for Cherokee Trail, he brings a wealth of knowledge with over 14 years in high school and youth lacrosse coaching. His expertise not only lies in fostering young talent but also in crafting strategies that have consistently propelled teams to success. Under Patrick's leadership, camp staff at POWLAX are not just instructors, but mentors who guide each player to reach their fullest potential.
