Karate: Ryukyu Kempo Jan
Jan 04 - Feb 01 (Tuesday, Thursday)
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Pendleton Recreation Center
Okinawan Kemp Karate is a traditional martial art. It is based on developing good human character. We use karate, as a tool, to make ourselves into better people. Because we don't compete with others, children as well as older adults can learn and practice this art, to become healthy in body and mind. We study kata's, traditional okinawan wood weapons and caligraphy. Our instructor, Sensei Lars Hansen, has studied karate for over 10 years and is a second degree black belt. He is certified by a national board of directors to teach this type of karate. The fee is based on monthly participation. Class meets at the Pendleton Recreation Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning in October from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. The $50 per month registration fee is due the Thursday prior to the first class day of the month. THERE WILL BE A $20 SHIRT FEE TO GET STARTED. YOU CAN WEAR YOUR OWN BLACK SWEATS TO START OR PURCHASE SPECIAL KARATE PANTS FROM THE INSTRUCTOR ($15-$25) BUT PLEASE NO YOGA PANTS.
