This fall, dancers will return to Tchaikovsky’s beloved ballet, The Nutcracker! Participants will focus on two of the most famous scenes from this classic wintertime tale: the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies (Ballet I) and the Waltz of the Snowflakes (Ballet II). GFS is thrilled to welcome back professional ballet instructor, Fallon Gannon, who taught our enchanting summer camp in June. Fallon will be return to campus to continue sharing the her love of moving to music in a class focused on enriching children’s lives with an appreciation for and love of dance. The performance of Dances from The Nutcracker is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 6. This class is open to both male and female dancers. Preschool students must be four years old by June 1, 2016, in order to participate. ASPire coverage for students in the later class will be available from 3:10 – 3:55 p.m. for a modest additional fee. Please note: There will be no club on Tuesday, November 22 and the final club session will take place on Tuesday, December 6. Students will need their own ballet slippers, tights and leotards (suggested for girls) or t-shirt and black leggings (suggested for boys, though dancers should wear the attire they feel suits them best.)
