In addition to fun and friendship, the goal of the GFS Computer Camp is to help kids sharpen the skills they will need tomorrow. Under the direction of Lower School Technology Coordinator Ann Perrone, Computer Camp participants will not only create a presentation based on individual research, but they also will learn how to edit photographs using Image Tricks software, compose music with GarageBand, and create a presentation with iPhoto. Every session will begin with a period of coding (courtesy of Code.org) before campers dive into personalized exploration of a common theme, adjusted for age and grade. This year's theme is Space Exploration. Students will conduct their own research, write an article, produce a slide show, and design their own t-shirt related to the theme. Computer Camp is an afternoon-only camp and many students may wish to enjoy Soccer Camp or the all-new Explorers Day Camp during the morning session. Lunchtime coverage is available. Bus transportation is available to Center City at 4:00 p.m. for $50/week provided 17 campers sign-up on or before June 1 for transportation during the week of June 13 - 17.
