About This Activity
Astrology is a range of divinatory practices, recognized as pseudoscientific since the 18th century, through studying the apparent positions of celestial objects. Students will learn all about Hellenistic (traditional) astrology, the archetypes of gods and goddesses, after which the various planets were named, and how to read their own birth chart. Do they agree with the description of how Mercury in Aries would affect their communication style? What's a rising sign? How does one's birth chart interact with the current moment of the cosmos? How will a Mercury retrograde affect day-to-day life? TPS teacher, Forte, has enjoyed learning about astrology as a tool for self reflection and growth, in addition to using the zodiac as a map to identify stars and planets in the night sky for the last twenty years. (Please note: There are no sessions on Feb 16, Mar 15 & 29, Apr 26.)
