In this club young ladies of color will gather to practice self care and build confidence through exploration of deep roots and heritage. Bonding about healthy habits and simple natural hairstyles encourages students to love themselves as well as their curls and coils. The club will work to break societal stigmas, promote growth and embed self-love, while providing space for expression. Nevaeh is a new ASEP teacher in JU, who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in social work from Temple University, with a focus in adolescent development. (Please note: There are no sessions on Feb 17, March 24 & 31.)
