About This Activity
Description
Behind every great movie there is a great screenplay. When you watch your favorite movie, it can be difficult to imagine that such breathtaking images, hilarious dialogue, extravagant action scenes, and tear-jerking moments start off as words on a piece of paper but believe it or not, this is the case. In this class, you will learn the fundamentals needed to put your amazing story ideas onto paper in proper screenwriting format by looking at the screenplays and scenes of your favorite movies. Intro to Screenwriting is a great way to learn about the first (and arguably, the most crucial) aspect of the filmmaking process. In addition, writing is an amazing artistic outlet that allows you to share your unique worldview within the framework of a captivating story. By the end of the 6 week session, Students will have written their very own original 5 page screenplay. This is a beginner level class so if you know absolutely nothing about screenwriting but love movies and have always wanted to know how to write one, then this is the perfect class for you!
