We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Tuesday, December 6, 2016.
Sprouts is thrilled to share our love for wholesome food and hands-on cooking with your aspiring chefs! As we examine how and when our local food is grown, your aspiring chef will do everything themselves, from prep work and cooking to tasting enjoying the recipe that they created.
What's on the menu?! All of our menus will be determined by the season's best and inspired by local favorite flavors. We'll be cooking with Riverdog Farms and Blue House Farms produce and Straus and Organic Pastures dairy to rediscover the flavors and food culture of where we live, and gain confidence to cook for family and friends. Sample recipes included fresh ricotta and marinated kale flatbread, apple orange muffins and fresh juice with local citrus and berries. We focus on simple, delicious and nutritious recipes that allow plenty of room for our aspiring chefs to add their own creative twist. At the end of each class, every child will enjoy the recipe that they made!
All skill levels welcome.
Each child should bring a bag to the first class with the following items labeled with their name:1 4-5" Chef's knife with protective sleeve1 lightweight cutting board1 vegetable peeler1 whisksingle set of silverware (spoon and fork)optional: apron
Won't be able to drop the Chef's kit off with your child on day one of class? Bring the items with labeled bag to the PRD front office (358 Hillside Ave) for storage and items will be delivered to the instructor on the first day of class.
Class does not meet November 23, 2016.
