The Minor League Baseball programs for boys and girls are designed for younger players with less experience and is separated into a machine pitch division and player pitch division. Generally, the Minors - Machine Pitch division of play is the better option for most players age 6 - 8 and the Minors - Player Pitch division is better for 9 - 10 year old players. If league age 6 and wanting to play in the Minors – Machine Pitch division, players must have one year of Tee Ball or Pee Wee experience. If league age 8 and waiting to play in the Minors – Player Pitch division, players must have one year of Minor League – Machine Pitch experience.
The diamond used in both divisions of Minor League play is a 60-foot diamond. In the player pitch division the pitching distance is 46 feet and in the machine pitch division the pitching distance is 40 feet.
Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in this introduction level of Little League. After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local league board members and other volunteer positions within the league.
