About This Activity
Description
Ages 7-21 (Children must have an adult chaperone)
Join us for FREE Fishing Day on June 7th. On this day, anyone over the age of 16 is not required to purchase a fishing license or a trout stamp. The Township of Plainsboro is partnering with the “Hooked on Fishing – Not on Drugs” (HOFNOD) program sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The goal of New Jersey’s program is to encourage school-aged children to avoid tobacco, drug and alcohol usage by providing alternative activities that involve learning to fish, appreciating aquatic and environmental resources, and developing positive life skills.
During the program, students learn about freshwater ecosystems, proper outdoor ethics, how and when and where to fish, & participate in a fishing challenge to see who can catch the biggest fish. Prizes will be awarded to the top 4 participants.
Program Free – REGISTRATION REQUIREDNon-Resident beginning March 17
