Learn to hand-wrap your own winter wreath! Our crafty Environmental Education staff will teach you the techniques needed to help you design your own holiday décor. Most of our greens come directly from Portland's Parks & Natural Areas - and all proceeds help send children & youth from underserved neighborhoods to summer camp programs on a 95% scholarship. Come, learn & pay it forward!

Join us at the Mt Tabor Yard greenhouse to learn how to create your own holiday wreath using fresh greens from our Portland Parks and nearby nurseries. Experience is not necessary - we'll teach you how to work with the greens and wrap them on to a 10" metal ring. All proceeds from this project help fund nature camps & classes for children from underserved neighborhoods. Come and give back this holiday season (and get a nice wreath for yourself as well!)
Wreath-making takes time! Please pack a substantial lunch & water bottle and dress in layers. If it's cloudy the green house can be cool. If the sun comes out, it can get warm quickly!
Orientation to greens and tools is from 9-9:30, demonstration is from 9:30-10, and creating your hand-wrapped wreath will take 3-4 hours. We'll keep you happy with hot cocoa and coffee, and you will go home with a beautiful holiday decoration.
