A preschoolers mind is like a sponge! The benefits of combining nature play, ecology and meaningful adults are proven! Weekly hands-on lessons in Portland's Parks & Natural areas improve creativity, focus, coordination, & social development. Children learn about Pacific NW ecology through games, activities, exploration and unstructured play.
This is a parent-child class - children must attend with an adult. If the class is full, always join a waitlist! If we can find teachers to add a section, we will! Scholarships are available by calling 503-823-3601.
Lesson Topics for this session: TBA
This is a parent-child version of Lil Nature Kids! Spend time with a small group of preschoolers and their parents, led by a preschool naturalist! Children learn about local plants & animals through crafts, songs, games and play. Parents will learn the benefits of nature play, methods for helping children engage with nature and strategies for encouraging social, emotional & cognitive growth. Participants are outdoors rain or shine - we make nature fun in any type of weather! Student to teacher ratio is 4:1 or better.
