What if you could change the story of an artwork? Would you add something magical, silly, or totally unexpected? Get ready to unleash your imagination in this two-day Spring Break intensive, where you’ll dive into the world of augmented reality (AR) drawings & animation! Using an AR app and an iPad, you’ll bring your drawings and animations to life, layering them onto existing art works in the Portland Art Museum’s exhibition Monet’s Floating Worlds at Giverny: Portland’s Waterlilies Resurfaces. Whether you want to continue the story or flip it upside down, the creative choices are all yours! Here’s what’s in store: *Explore creative storytelling through AR drawings and animation. *Experiment with digital tools to enhance or transform existing artworks. *Discover real-world applications of AR, and investigate how technology is shaping the future of art. We’ll begin the workshop with a private visit to the exhibition Monet’s Floating Worlds to brainstorm ideas, create sketches, and choose art works. Guided by teaching artist and creative technologist Sonya Neunzert, you’ll develop animation and AR skills in a fun, hands-on environment. By the end of the intensive, you’ll have a unique digital creation to share with friends and family—proof that with a little creativity, art is never finished, only reimagined. Don’t miss out—this is your chance to take creativity off the page and into another dimension. Art, technology, and storytelling are about to collide in the most awesome way possible!
