Learn to formulate your own Japanese patinas for coloring metal by mixing chemicals from scratch. Patinas covered include Niiro, a traditional Japanese coloring technique that produces rich and vibrant colors on copper and Japanese copper alloys such as Shibuichi (copper + silver) and Shakudo (copper + gold). We will also cover Rokusho (blue/green) patina, red copper finish and black finish on brass. Simple Japanese alloy, copper, or brass on which to show off new patina skills.
No prerequisite. Class price includes an $90 materials and studio fee that is non-refundable once class begins.
