Dig into the roots of music theory! Develop a 'sound' foundation through exploring intervallic relationships as they appear in melody & harmony. Improve memorization, poise, deportment & more.
Note: this class was originally listed as 2_1, but is now a level 2_2.
Prerequisite: Piano Foundations Level 2-1 or the equivalent. Student must have access to a piano or digital keyboard for at home practice - limited rentals available at CMC - call 503-823-3177 for more info. In class students use digital pianos that simulate acoustic grands.
Required text: Piano Adventures Book 1 (available at CMC for purchase).
This is the first term in a two-year curriculum series. Excellent attendance is required to progress to the next level. Daily individual practice between classes is an important part of successful music instruction.
This is a school year length course that begins in late September/early October and continues through early June. Students are automatically rolled over into winter & spring term, with tuition due the first day of the new term. Listed fee is for Fall term, and is usually the same for winter and spring.
