Fall sessions take place on Sunday mornings beginning in early September and continuing into late October. Our programs are for boys and girls with and without field hockey sticks. We have loaners and we sell sticks too. All players must wear mouth and shin guards. NO WIRE-FRAME GOGGLES ALLOWED. Our programs are developmental (vs. competitive) in nature and geared for beginners -- kids who might be checking out field hockey for the first time or have played a couple/few years. We do have some competitions but, we don't take teams to tournaments. If your child is ready for a more competitive environment, we recommend the Princeton Field Hockey Club, which holds tryouts and travels to tournaments. We have two programs in the fall. 1. FUNdamentals field hockey program is for boys and girls in grades 3rd-4th and 5th-6th grades (7th and 8th graders are welcome to join the younger kids to learn proper skills if they've never been given proper coaching -- they should still sign up for Super6s). 2. If your boy or girl is in 7th-8th grade, they will play Super6s, which is a bit more competitive but completely appropriate for beginners as we provide plenty of instruction. High school players are welcome to apply for limited number of positions and volunteer as an OAFHA Junior Coach. Most high school kids who do this can get credit for community service programs at their schools.
